  1. Hey there! Thank you for all the information you’ve provided. It has truly been a benefit to owners of the RAV4, a vehicle largely ignored by the aftermarket modification developers.

    One hurdle I’m having trouble solving is the exhaust. There are no RAV4 specific performance parts whatsoever out there. Could you elaborate on your choices in this regard when you did your swap? Did you go with 2.5″ or larger? Did you follow the original exhaust path or utilize an N1-style muffler? Do you have any photos of your setup? Any info you could provide would be a help.

    • Thank you! I’ve done the best I could and I wish I had more time and money to invest into these Rav4’s and projects. Unfortunately, I built a custom exhaust out of scrapped parts from other cars. I used a 2.5″leading into a 3″utilizing the Rav4’s exhaust path until the rear suspension where I had a angled N1-style side exhaust outlet. You won’t benefit from a 3″ exhaust unless you up the boost with a boost control otherwise a 2.5″ will work fine. I’ve had a harddrive with all my photo fail for a few years ago but we able to recover a few of the photos. I will try to find the exhaust photos.

  2. I have a 2005 caldina zt with automatic transmission 2wd, I wanted to go manual transmission but the parking break is where the clutch should be, I was looking at the scion tc centre console but it looks different, any suggestion ?

    • I don’t know if these parts are compatible. You may have to find an entire manual Caldina parking brake setup with the center console to do this swap.

  3. sxa10, mensajero here. Like always doing the research before spending money. I’m turbocharging the 3SFE engine. I know, why loose my time. Well, to tell you the truth, I’ve heard the same amount of horror stories, but also a lot of positive information. As long as you don’t go over 6 lbs., slightly more. My question, how much volumetric efficiency does the 3SFE engtine have? I guess you know where I’m going with this. I’m going to tune it at a “T”. Oil coolers, filters, electrical system and what not.

  4. sax10, me again, this time with results. I did the rear disc brake setup posted here. It works great. Very firm brake pedal, braking power went up about 35%. Already tested it in a panic situation and it stopped on a dime with space to spare. Thanks for the guidance and info. Now I’m doing the Shifter Bushings. And yes, still striving for the V6. 😉
